Destiny 2

Destiny 2 was the much-anticipated sequel to the 2014 original that that promised new locations, visuals, narrative, and activities in addition to new player abilities and mechanics. As a Designer on this project, I worked on building both “Dark Forest” locations and assisted building the “Legion’s Anchor” location, and was the Activity Designer for Campaign Mission Spark. Additionally, I took over responsibilities as designer for an ambient “Adventure” activity on the Titan location called “Bad Neighbors”, though most of the work on that particular activity was already done by a fellow designer and I was brought on more to ease their load and to ensure the activity made it to ship.

I joined the project (then called D16) in 2015, and immediately began working on shaping the space in the Legion’s Anchor location on the European Dead Zone destination. I would eventually also begin shaping the space in the Dark Forest location (also on the EDZ). Both locations would house campaign mission Activities that would eventually be cut or refocused (due to a project pivot), but the environments themselves would remain for other activities and events (Legion’s Anchor would be home to Strike, Adventure, and Quest activities while the Dark Forest would be home to where the player unlocks their second and third player Subclass abilities). In the shipping version of Destiny 2, I would be responsible for building a second Dark Forest location for the campaign mission Spark, which I also was responsible for. I would also take on design responsibilities for the Adventure “Bad Neighbors”.
